The Final Straw

The path that led to the American Revolution was a long but deliberate one. Repeated attempts at redress through official channels were initially rebuffed, later ignored altogether. Nearly 20 percent of the colonists were Tories, those who favored the King. The majority, however, favored independence although reluctantly. The British Crown, obsessed with retaining its power, increased taxes and, finally, sent General Howe to Boston. Howe’s mission? To disarm the people and establish British control. Instead, the patriots resisted and the British fired the first shot heard around the world.

Today the federal government has taken on the trappings of a separate but equal status. It has passed laws, including Obamacare, against the wishes of a majority of Americans. The healthcare program, like all federal wage and benefit packages, exempts federal political elites from the sub-standard program designed for what Progressives deem “the masses”. Pensions, travel, office expenses, healthcare plans, and more are better and more lavish for the political elite than for the American People. Ironically, these political elites supposedly work for us yet these employees are earning more than the employer and telling the employer what to do!!!

The federal government has arbitrarily chosen NOT to enforce the law. The electoral violations by the New Black Panther Party, the Defense of Marriage Act, Obamacare, and the lack of illegal immigration enforcement are just some of their abuses of power. Through Obamacare alone the IRS will be expanded to become the hammer with which to beat the People into submission. The individual liberty of the People will be forced into submission to the new National (aka, federal) Government. New agencies and departments are included that grossly expand the size and scope of the federal tyranny over all business and all activities.

The federal government has attempted to silence the Governor of Arizona and derail that State’s efforts to defend against illegal immigrants. Areas of Arizona are off-limits to Americans and in control of Mexican criminals. Border Patrol agents are assassinated in Mexico and killed inside our borders. Individuals in Phoenix are kidnapped and the first beheaded as the Mexican drug war creeps into our neighborhoods. Criminal illegal aliens ordered deported remained and kill again. Illegal immigrants who may not be criminals attack and abuse our system through their illicit use of tax funded programs and services.

The federal government, rather than upholding the Constitution, has conspired with the United Nations to disarm the American People through international treaties. Despite two Supreme Court decisions affirming the constitutional right to keep and bear arms, the federal government and its minion groups simply ignore the courts in pursuit of their Progressive agenda. To achieve their Marxist-Socialist ends in America they must first disarm the People. Tyranny cannot thrive where the People are armed and are able to defend themselves against abuses of power.

The federal government has established a non-elected legislative body to circumvent the Constitution and force the submission of the American People to its Progressive agenda. A band of czars count on and utilize a number of labor unions, Progressive think tanks, and media organizations to circumvent the Congress and abuse the regulatory process. With the advent of the current Progressive Administration came purposeful bankrupting spending and Obamacare. The latter is quite amazing because Congress seemingly wrote and passed a 2000-page bill in a few weeks. Curiously, our legislators who were supposed to have written the bill had no idea what it contained. The Speaker of the House said that the bill had to be passed first, only then would we know its contents. Something I would expect in Iran or China, not the United States.

The federal government has imposed taxes on us without our consent. While the VAT or European-style value added tax is eagerly anticipated by Progressives on both sides of the aisle, our dollars are being made worthless by a central bank that supports the rich at the expense of the People. Yes, the Federal Reserve has been monetizing the debt and this process devalues the dollar. A devalued dollar is a dollar made smaller, a dollar that buys less and less. Additionally we must consider the ill-effects of disproportionate taxation. The Progressives love to invoke populist visions of taking from the rich to give to the poor in the name of Social Justice. Redistribution of income has even been a part of our current tax system in the form of loop-holes and deductions. The more dangerous situation is represented by who pay the taxes that support government services and programs. Half of all Americans that filed income tax returns only account for nearly 3 percent or less of taxes paid. The top half of Americans pays 97 percent of taxes. This is contrary to our egalitarian heritage and creates a large group of Americans who are dependent on government handouts. These same Americans, in effect, have greater privilege; they pay little or no taxes and they get to vote for more entitlements and government spending. It’s not egalitarian, it’s not fair.

The federal government is inciting insurrection amongst the American people. Those subsidized by the Progressive juggernaut, internationally oriented Marxist labor unions, and outright anti-American subversive organizations such as La Raza, CAIR, Muslim Brotherhood, the new SDS, AFL-CIO, and assorted Communist and Socialist International groups have been coaxed into action. “From Egypt to Wisconsin” is the battle-cry of those bent on subverting the US Constitution and the destruction of its Republic. These are clearly domestic enemies in our midst.

The ridicule and invectives cast upon the Tea Party movement are akin to the arrogant disdain of King George and his pompous Parliament. Like the inbred “royalty” of Britain in 1776, the federal government has swelled its ranks with those who are convinced that they just know better. These same political narcissists insist on telling us how to live, what to eat, where to work, and when to die. They wish nothing more than to dictate to each of us from cradle to grave. To be right, to be successful, to be a winner will require the individual to surrender to the state and obey the system without question. The book 1984 spells out the details of a runaway Progressive totalitarian regime. It is just a matter of time now.

The Tea Party and those who honor our Republic and its Constitution patiently and peacefully ask for the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness our Founders envisioned, fought for and achieved. What the Founders bequeathed to us is under attack and we are at risk of losing it all. It would behoove the Republican and Democrat Progressive elites to honor our history and make immediate amends. The People spoke in the November 2010 elections and will speak again in 2012. The People await redress for the grievances perpetrated by a distant federal government. It would serve our domestic enemies well to heed the People’s peaceful warning. Though peaceful, it is backed by personal conviction, and respect for our Republic as the Founders intended. Should the Progressives and their minions on the Left insist on ignoring the People’s warning they will inadvertently or otherwise fire the first shot. Like Lexington, this shot will be heard very clearly around the world. Their day of rage will be short-lived. It is just a matter of time now.

The American spirit for liberty will not be extinguished and it will be triumphant.
